Pre-Dentistry

Student in Haiti practicing pre-dental.

Studying Pre-Dentistry at USF will give you the foundation to successfully apply to dental school. You’ll gain a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, math, and physics. These are all required to make it through the highly competitive dental school application process.

We’ve got the academic background, professional mentors, and the community connections with working dentists, to make sure you can successfully begin your career as a dentist.

Learn by Doing

As a USF Pre-Dentistry student, you’ll spend an entire year working in our on-campus human cadaver lab. These lab experiences mirror the kind of experiences you’d get in dental school. It looks good on an application, and because you’ll start dental school with experience working in a human cadaver lab, you’ll be more confident and do better.

Outside the Classroom

USF partners with the Matthew 25 Dental Clinic in Fort Wayne, a local clinic that provides dental services to veterans and people with low-income. Students complete volunteer hours working around the clinic and being exposed to a working dental environment. You could complete internships with local dentists – USF has a good reputation with many regional healthcare providers.

We also have professionals come speak on campus as part of our Weekly Science Seminar. All Pre-Dentistry students attend these seminars together. You get to know each other as you get to know your profession.
