Degree Requirements

The B.S. in Environmental Science – Liberal Arts degree requires 128 credit hours:

  • 48-49 credit hours of general education courses,
  • 49 credit hours of prescribed courses in biology, chemistry, and physics,
  • a minimum of 9 credit hours of science directed electives, and
  • electives as needed

The B.S. in Environmental Science – Conservation Biology degree requires 128 credit hours:

  • 48-49 credit hours of general education courses (excluding four credit hours counted in the major core),
  • 35 credit hours of prescribed courses in biology, chemistry, and physics,
  • a minimum of 3 credit hours of Cell-Molecular Biology directed electives,
  • a minimum of 3 credit hours of Anatomy & Physiology directed electives,
  • a minimum of 6 credit hours of Organismal Biology-Ecology directed electives,
  • 10 additional directed electives in math, biology, environmental science, or physical science,
  • electives as needed

The A.S. in Environmental Science degree requires 60 credit hours:

  • 12 credit hours of general education courses, and
  • 46 credit hours of prescribed courses in biology, chemistry, and environmental science
  • electives as needed
