Learn by Doing In and Out of the Classroom

Our on-campus labs provide modern tools to analyze air, soil, and water samples – that you’ll collect and prepare yourself.

USF students have built rain gardens, bird gardens, and nature trails, helped maintain the restored prairie on campus, written trail guides, and led hikes through local land preserves.

USF’s Environmental Science program gets you in the field – locally, nationally, and internationally. Our field research trips and our immediate access to on-campus field research stations let you practice completing your own research.

Around town, you’ll be able to study a city nature preserve, a large restored wet prairie, parks, a river greenway, three rivers and urban, suburban, exurban and rural agricultural areas.
